Ponder This.....

Why is it when it comes to Weddings it drives family's crazy or people crazy and tends to bring the worst out of people but at Funerals it brings families together? Does that seem ass back wards to anyone?

Old and New

My mom came into town last night and brought me her old wedding dress......to my surprise it actually fits me!!!!

It was really crazy wearing it because:

1) I really do look just like my mom
2) My father passed away a couple of years ago and it is just really interesting to think of the 2 of them as "Mr. To BE" & I are now..young..in love...getting married.. it's touching to have something that important with me
3) It fits me (ok ok so I just had to say it again)
4) It actually is really pretty..... way to go Mom even in 1973 you still had bad ass taste!

I'm so pimp in this dress....just sayin...

32.......ugh...

So.... another year has come and gone and I am now reaching the scarrrrry age where my actions just don't fit into the "funny" OR "cute" category. I guess at some point I will start acting like a adult.....but this is just not that year.

For my birthday this year I had a 70's bowling party where all of my great friends put on their best "Blast from the Past" ridiculous costume to bowl and karaoke...was a GREAT time, but I must share with you the best gift I received.

Just when I didn't think my "Mr. To Be" had a romantic bone in his body he suprises me... this is what I woke up to on my birthday..

32 Reasons Why I Love You:
#1 Your ability to create beautiful things in our home and bringing beauty into my life
#2 Your love for trying new things everyday
#3 and #4 Those amazing carmel eyes that make my heart melt
#5 and #6 Those amazing breasts the inspire envy in other mens hearts
#7 Your heathly yet flavorful meals you cook for me
#8 Your fashion and the ability to keep my attire looking cool
#9 Your silky smooth skin that my stepmom is obsessed with (long story but really funny)
#10 Your amazing ability to hang with my friends and be cool
#11 The way you keep our house clean (except for your clothes)
#12 The way your always down for Sunday Funday on bikes
#13 The way your always up for laying in bed all day.....naked
#14 The way you ALWAYS have my back
#15 and #16 Those two beautiful legs that I obsessivly rub
#17 The beautiful booty that I love to **@#*
#18 >CENSORED<
#19 The way you uncontrolably snort when you laugh
#20 The way you stroke my head when I lay with you
#21 Your skills to make ANYONE beautiful through your pictures
#22 The beauty mark on your face that accentuates your overwhelming beauty even more
#23 The way I can make you happy with simple things like flowers
#24 >CENSORED<
#25 The way you look in a wife beater
#26 and #27 The two ears you use to listen to my bad days
#28 The mouth you use to make me feel better with your words and your kisses
#29 Your beautiful hair......which you promise to never cut off
#30 and #31 For the 2 years you have made my life miserable and absolutely amazing at the same time
#32 And finally for saying YES when it meant the most to me...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE

ok...ok...I guess 32 won't be sooo bad.

Marriage is that relation between man and woman in which the independence is equal, the dependence mutual, and the obligation reciprocal.

3 YEARS!!!!

Happy anniversary to pretty much the F-ing coolest couple I know... married 3 years today.

Great friends and even greater couple....

Semi Obsession......

I have developed a new obsession with "101 Rules for my unborn Son"

such a funny blog..... here are a couple of my faviorate rules so far:

384. All drinking challenges must be accepted.
386. Ask your mom to play. She won't let you win.

“I am not going to sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life. I’m going to take a stand. I’m going to defend it. Right or wrong, I’m going to defend it.

Ice Cream Guy.....

So I have decided that I am going to hire one of those neighborhood ice cream guys with the little cart to show up at the wedding around 930pmish with a little ice cream pick me up!! tooooo funny huh?

Lola's Beach Wedding Party....

So.....as I've told you before my friend Lola just got married. They for sure did it right, flew off to a remote paradise and got married in private then came back and had a HUGE party! Last weekend they had their "wedding reception" at a all day beach party. We had so much fun! Horse shoe contest, surfing, bbqing....amazing. Here are some of the pictures.

Wedding season....

Like I mentioned before 2 of my good friends got married this month. You saw "Lola's" weeding pics... here are some from my other friend's wedding.

She looked amazing, the church they got married in was so beautiful it made me second guess getting married outside. It was small, old and adorable. They had a live band and we danced all night long...

BIG UPS TO THE MIDDLETONS!

lagging.....

I know....haven't blogged in awhile...but I also haven't worked on anything "Wedding related" (my own anyways)

Been putting all my effort into my photography, but it seems after you get the venue, the caterer, the bridesmaids dress and your own dress there isn't a whole lot to work on intill closer to the date.. right? Or am I missing something.. ??

Well.....get back to you soon.

"Lola's" wedding day...

The BIG day for the "Old to New" dress. I tell you what, I cried countless times while viewing these pictures,"Lola" looked SO breath taking. You know when you see some couples, you just know they are meant to be together no questions asked, this couple is like a pure fairytale.....

From Old to New....

So in continuation of my last post about creating my bouquet out of my mom's wedding dress I had to show you where I got some of the idea from....

My friend "Lola" just got married over the weekend, her and "MR. Lola" had the big day in Costa Rica on the beach. She wore a hot, all white one piece bathing suite and had her mom's dress recreated into a high wasted skirt topping it off with a amazing necklace. She even kept the train as it's original and wore the flower from her mom's veil. She looked AMAZING....

To Flower or not to Flower.....that is the question?

When it comes to flowers at a wedding, they are really pretty but they are also a pretty penny. So.....in my attempt to plan this "Ghetto Chic Wedding" I'm looking for all possible ways to save a penny, spend a penny, make a penny etc.....

My mom called me the other day to let me know that she found her wedding dress, the rad 70's dress she wore to marry my father.... She tells me, "I know you're not going to wear it or anything but maybe you can use pieces of it just to have with you".....and BING the light goes off!!! THANKS MOM

I'm going to use my mom's wedding dress to create a bouquet of flowers for my self and along with a rad hair piece attached to the bird cage veil. Add in a couple jewels to it and Badda Bing....

1) I have a sentimental bouquet made out of my mom's wedding dress
2) I have the "Something Old" part of the tradition covered
3) SAVED MONEY :)
4) I can keep it forever

done and done.... LOVE IT

It Has Happen..... I found the dress

Well the search has come to a stop.....I have found the dress....

Don't mind that it's not actually me wearing the dress in the picture, "The Sample Size" didn't quite pull over my bootyluscious hips so my friend Angela put it on for me.

It is AMAZING...and I am going to wear the feather head piece along with LAYERS of old antique diamond necklaces.

Engagment Party....

The party was amazing! The food was great....my girls did such a great job setting up!
So many people came and everyone looked great! It got me excited again about the "wedding festivities" to come.

Is there any question why?? I mean look at his eyes....

First Party Is Approching.....

2 dayzzz and counting until our first "wedding" related party. We have our engagement party on Saturday, and all the out-of-towners start rolling in tomorrow. I'm really excited to see everyone.......my MOH "Ace" has done such an amazing job organizing everything...
I'm super nervous about it thou, nothing like having everyone from all different stages, ages and sections of your life all under the same roof. This whole mixing people, places and things is still new to me and unfamiliar.

My wish list for the party:
1. Hope everyone gets along
2. Hope people show up (classic party anxiety)
3. Hope everyone has fun
4. Hope my hair turns out OK (hair never works out when you want it to)
5. Hope everyone who hasn't had a chance to meet and greet with BOO gets a chance to
6. Hope my dress looks good on me
7. Hope there is enough liquor (Lord knows our group of peeps know how to rage)
8. Hope....hope....hope...
yeah I know ALLOT of "hopes" but I have my fingers crossed..... I'm not really good with these things... but I guess I better get use to it huh...

But most important I'm really excited to see my family and friends...

Priorities

In my efforts to continue "Operation Bad Ass Bride Body" my hommie C-money and I were hanging having a nice din din aannnddd......in true form after we consumed the 1 bottle of red wine that we already had we decided that we needed more...... BUT priorities set in. We decided that we could only have more wine IF we walked the 2 miles to the store and on our way back used the wine bottles as weights...... i mean priorities right? LOL

Bridal Mania

Like I mentioned before...I have a couple of friends getting married as well so last weekend MartiniandRossi and I hosted a bridal show for our friend..."Lola"
The party was great... I made all Weight Watcher friendly food (operation bride body) and tried out the "Skinny Girl" margarita's that I previously blog over. We had lost of fun and played NO bridal games (only because I couldn't find any cool ones)

yummy WW food

Cute little Mason Jars (hi mason jar bride!) that Boo helped me rope

These little Thank You bags where so easy and so cheap to make...great idea for Wedding Guest Bags. You can get the bags at Target .49 cents for a pack of 12. The stamp you can get at any craft shop, then I just punched a whole in it and strung in the tie...super easy! We filled it with the brides favorite candy and her Save the Dates.

me....showing off the "bling"
oh
Lola....always the center of attention. She has quite the drinking problem that girl.

Cuteness

Saw this on Martha Stewart Weddings.... Laura and Ben....so cute. If you are into butterflies this is a unique way to change up your bouquet.

Out with the Old....in with the New

With my never ending fight to save every dollar possible I am playing with the idea of ditching the classic bouquet idea and going with either big cool corsages or big "Carrie" from Sex and the City head pieces...

Thoughts???

(no these are not my corsages, found the picture on google images)

The Most Interesting Day

Like I have mentioned before my friend Angela and I are both getting married, so going through the process together is allot more fun. We went to The White House in CDM on Wednesday to try on dresses.

First let me tell you, the place is amazing. The dresses are breathtaking and the service was top notch...

but..... as I'm talking weddings and drinking champagne, Jessica who was the coolest stylist, was in the dressing room with me helping me step out of one white puff and into another....starts to tell me about her wedding that was coming up. After hearing all the amazing details I ask her "You have to have a blog, your wedding sounds to cool" well I was right she was MASON JAR BRIDE!!! A blog I totally follow! Imagine how fun that was, not only was she the most helpful, creative, raddest stylist to have during the craziness of wedding dress shopping but I'M ONE OF HER FANS! I was so excited I started jumping up and down in the dressing room (naked of course)

I know this sounds dumb but when you look at blogs daily these cool girls that you read about and follow become like little celebrities to you. Needless to say it was an interesting experience BUT I would tell anyone in California that is looking for a dress to go to The White Dress and have Jessica help you... she is RAD!!!

Thanks MASON JAR BRIDE!!! Your wedding is going to be the coolest...

Wedding Colors

My friend Angela and I are both getting married and she had this amazing idea. We went down to home Depot and looked at the color chips to see what we wanted our wedding color palette to be. Now let me tell you, I didn't think much of it at the time BUT this is SO helpful!!! To see the colors together, and to have that in your hand as an "inspiration board"....... I thought I was going to add in orange to my palette but after playing with all the paint chips I decided on yellow!

This is my color palette:
White = background, table linen, napkins etc..
Green = succulents and greenery
Yellow = the flowers
Blues = the turquoise jewelry for the bridesmaids
Choc Brown = the dresses of the bridesmaids

This was really helpful...

Amazing Idea!

I found this in the spring issue of Inside Weddings magazine and I LOVE the idea!!!
You place a blank canvas at your guest table, as your guest arrive you ask them to dip a brush into the color of paint of their choice and paint a stroke onto the canvas. When your wedding is over you have a painting that was done by all the family and friends that you love created on your day.....

SO DOING THIS! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!

Joke of the Day

So my Maid of Honor (gangster best friend) sent me a email of marriage jokes.... great way to start the day is with a laugh... thanks ACE :)

Here are some of the best ones:

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary. She said, 'I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 200 in about 3 seconds.I bought her a scale.

And that's how the fight started.

A woman is standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She is not happy with what she sees and says to her husband, 'I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment. The husband replies, 'Your eyesight's damn near perfect.'

And that's how the fight started.

My wife and I are watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed.
I turned to her and said, 'Do you want to have sex? 'No,' she answered. I then said, 'Is that your final answer? She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying 'Yes.' So I said, 'Then I'd like to phone a friend.'

And that's how the fight started.

I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller Light for $14.95. Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95. I told her the beer would make her look better at night than the cold cream.

And that's how the fight started.

So True....

I cruzin the blogger world and came across That's What She Said

and on her header she says probably one of the funniest quotes I've read....

Life isn't always what it seems. Sometimes you have to look behind the bitch at the bar to see the liquor.

ain't that shit the truth.

WE HAVE A DATE!

April 24, 2010.........
and the countdown begins.

A Differant Viewpoint

I was going through old pictures last night in my attempt to clean up before Boo came home and look what I came across. What a different viewpoint you have when you're now going through a wedding of your own. Look how amazing my mom looked and my dads suit is pretty P.I.M.P if I do say so myself......ummmm maybe I can talk boo into white 70's tux??

Dresses.......UGH.........

Trying on wedding dresses is a very strange feeling. You know you're getting married, you know you love this man and you are excited BUT it's also so strange. Maybe because I'm older (31...scary) and the fairytale of it all is more of a realistic viewpoint, maybe because I've been alone so long that it feels out of place? I just know that no matter how much I want this, no matter how much I have secretly dreamed of this moment, no matter how happy I am knowing that someone finally understands me........I still fell like the pink elephant in the room.

see pink elephant below............

Like a math nerd at a frat party.

Feeding My Peeps $$$$

Boo and I meet with a caterer last night from Country Garden Caterers. What a great time we had!! Diana Perkins[Dianap@countrygardencaterers.com] was totally cool, so funny and just an all around great lady. The food was fantastic and the prices were VERY reasonable.

We started off with a salad that had candied pecans, feta cheese and a soft dressing. We sampled Poached Salmon with lemon-caper cream sauce, Roasted Tri-Tip with Jack Daniels glaze AND Tequila-Lime Chicken, garlic Mash potatoes and veggies.

She topped it off with a sampler platter of her cake options (see picture) I was pretty much in heaven.

She was straight to the point, no hidden fees like "cake cutting" or "cork" fees or "guaranteed" head count...

I'm pretty much sold.....

Back on Track Peeps....

I did it.... I got up and I ran this morning (6:30am) No more "GAIN TRAIN" for me.

Engagement Party Invite

Not done yet... more layers are being added. Going to stamp the date on the front and my good friend "T" from rubbishandreuse is going to help me put stitches in as a layer and on the back side I am addressing these like post cards.
I got this website from my friend Jo. She made really cute invites for her baby girls 1st b-day. The website is www.scrapblog.com. You can create books or invites and download them to your computer FOR FREE. After you download them you can print from your printer or upload it to shutterfly and print out for cheaper.

AMAZING...
