Wedding Dress size conspiracy a.k.a BULLSHIT

So I'm a little annoyed by the Wedding dress industry. I went and bought my dress (yippee for me) but the celebration came to a sour end when they told me I was a size 18!!!! WHAT??????? WAIT....come again?

I mean really.... I may have large cha cha's and a slightly (or more) round tush but certainly no damn 18.. ok, ok I could use more sit ups in my life BUT COME ON.

I'm in retail ladies and not only is it hard enough buying your actual size (I'm a 10by the way) but if designers where smart (and some are) they would purposely size clothes slightly off in our favor and the sales would jump. But to triple it....how does that make sense? And to triple it on a dress that cost more then anything you will buy (clothing wise) in your life for a day that you want to feel and look your best? F**KED up if you ask me...
I was, needless to say beyond annoyed by this whole back-assward process in the "wedding dress world" BUT as the week went on every time I went to eat or wanted to be too lazy to go to the gym a little bird in my head would say "size 18....size 18....size 18" .........SO..... enter in the conspiracy part of this. Did they jack up the dress sizes to put you in a mental war with yourself that makes you work out and stop eating??????

ummmmmmm.......it's a thought right? So now am I pissed or thankful? Because since then I have hit up spin class, running and got back on my diet.

Either way...total BULLSHIT.

We only have 7 months! it's now crunch time and I have been crazy busy..... but these will be our save the dates. :) We are putting magnets on the back and sending them off!

Ponder This.....

Why is it when it comes to Weddings it drives family's crazy or people crazy and tends to bring the worst out of people but at Funerals it brings families together? Does that seem ass back wards to anyone?

UPDATE....

I know.....I've been a very bad blogger lately, it's been crazy. On top of planning my wedding (not that I have done much in that dept) and working full time I have been fully booked every weekend doing family photos or weddings so needless to say I have been a busy bee..... BUT the update is that we changed the date of our wedding,

July 24, 2010 is our new date..... better weather, and more time!!!!!

Old and New

My mom came into town last night and brought me her old wedding dress......to my surprise it actually fits me!!!!

It was really crazy wearing it because:

1) I really do look just like my mom
2) My father passed away a couple of years ago and it is just really interesting to think of the 2 of them as "Mr. To BE" & I are now..young..in love...getting married.. it's touching to have something that important with me
3) It fits me (ok ok so I just had to say it again)
4) It actually is really pretty..... way to go Mom even in 1973 you still had bad ass taste!

I'm so pimp in this dress....just sayin...

32.......ugh...

So.... another year has come and gone and I am now reaching the scarrrrry age where my actions just don't fit into the "funny" OR "cute" category. I guess at some point I will start acting like a adult.....but this is just not that year.

For my birthday this year I had a 70's bowling party where all of my great friends put on their best "Blast from the Past" ridiculous costume to bowl and karaoke...was a GREAT time, but I must share with you the best gift I received.

Just when I didn't think my "Mr. To Be" had a romantic bone in his body he suprises me... this is what I woke up to on my birthday..

So I have decided that I am going to hire one of those neighborhood ice cream guys with the little cart to show up at the wedding around 930pmish with a little ice cream pick me up!! tooooo funny huh?

Lola's Beach Wedding Party....

So.....as I've told you before my friend Lola just got married. They for sure did it right, flew off to a remote paradise and got married in private then came back and had a HUGE party! Last weekend they had their "wedding reception" at a all day beach party. We had so much fun! Horse shoe contest, surfing, bbqing....amazing. Here are some of the pictures.

Like I mentioned before 2 of my good friends got married this month. You saw "Lola's" weeding pics... here are some from my other friend's wedding.

She looked amazing, the church they got married in was so beautiful it made me second guess getting married outside. It was small, old and adorable. They had a live band and we danced all night long...

Been putting all my effort into my photography, but it seems after you get the venue, the caterer, the bridesmaids dress and your own dress there isn't a whole lot to work on intill closer to the date.. right? Or am I missing something.. ??

"Lola's" wedding day...

The BIG day for the "Old to New" dress. I tell you what, I cried countless times while viewing these pictures,"Lola" looked SO breath taking. You know when you see some couples, you just know they are meant to be together no questions asked, this couple is like a pure fairytale.....

So in continuation of my last post about creating my bouquet out of my mom's wedding dress I had to show you where I got some of the idea from....

My friend "Lola" just got married over the weekend, her and "MR. Lola" had the big day in Costa Rica on the beach. She wore a hot, all white one piece bathing suite and had her mom's dress recreated into a high wasted skirt topping it off with a amazing necklace. She even kept the train as it's original and wore the flower from her mom's veil. She looked AMAZING....
